三宅一生さん　ISSEY MIYAKE

本日、去る8／5に三宅一生さんがお亡くなりなっていたという報道に接しました。

思い返せば中川絹糸が海外展開を始めるきっかけをいただいたのが
2014年に「ISSEY MIYAKAの2015 A&W collection用に日本の絹を探している」とのコンタクトからです。

当時主任デザイナーの高橋悠介さんが弊社にお越しいただき、

ちょうど2013年から始めていた中川絹糸の「日本の絹シリーズ」に興味を持っていただきました。

そしてこのcollectionが2015年2月に世に発表されました。

このことがきっかけとなり、ヨーロッパのメゾン界で「ISSEY MIYAKEの日本の絹」にフィーチャーした企画が次々と発生しました。

従来から取引のあった国内のアパレルが、ファストファッションの台頭で販売が低迷し、海外生産を重きに置くようになり、日本国内のファッションに関わるサプライチェーンが崩壊へと進んでいたときです。

中川絹糸も新たな販路開拓が必要で、ミラノやフィレンツェでの展示会への出展も検討していた時でしたので、まさしく救世主のような存在でした。

近年、中川絹糸もマスコミなどにも注目いただける会社となってきましたが、そのきっかけは三宅一生さんの「日本でのものづくりへのこだわり」だったのです。

本日訃報に接し、三宅一生さんが築いてこられたファッションの独創性に思いをはせ、感謝とご冥福を心からお祈りします。
そしてきっかけをいただいた事を大切に、日本のファッション産業が再び輝けるよう、懸命に取り組んでいきたいと、誓いを新たにします。

Today, I heard the news that Miyake Issey passed away on August 5th.

In retrospect, Nakagawa silk thread was given the opportunity to start overseas expansion.

In 2014, I contacted him saying, "I'm looking for Japanese silk for ISSEY MIYAKA's 2015 A&W collection."

Mr. Yusuke Takahashi, the chief designer visited our company.

They were interested in Nakagawa Silk's "Japanese Silk Series," which I started in 2013.

And this collection was announced to the world in February 2015.

This triggered a series of projects featuring ISSEY MIYAKE's Japanese silk in the world of European maisons.

With the rise of fast fashion, sales of domestic apparel, which we had been doing business with before, were sluggish, and overseas production began to be emphasized, and the supply chain related to fashion in Japan was collapsing.

Nakagawa silk thread also needed to develop new sales channels, and at the time we were considering exhibiting at exhibitions in Milan and Florence, so he was truly a savior.

In recent years, Nakagawa silk thread has also become a company that has attracted the attention of the mass media, and the impetus for this was Mr. Issey Miyake's "commitment to manufacturing in Japan."

Upon receiving the news of his passing today, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and prayers for the repose of his soul, reflecting on the originality of fashion that Mr. Issey Miyake has built.

I will cherish this opportunity and renew my vow to work hard so that the Japanese fashion industry can shine again.
